Formula E Race No Relief For KTR & Raids Begin

Former minister and BRS working president K T Rama Rao was dealt a defeat on Tuesday when the Telangana High Court dismissed his motion to quash the Anti-Corruption Bureau's (ACB) case in connection with the Formula-E race.

The court declined to prolong the interim injunction shielding him from arrest and also denied his counsel's request for one week's protection from arrest by the ACB.

ACB is conducting raids on KTR's residences in Raidurg and Nandingar following the court's judgement. On Monday, considerable drama erupted at the ACB headquarters in Hyderabad, with KT Rama Rao, who was there to record a statement, refusing to enter, claiming that the agency was not allowing his counsel to be there. For about 45 minutes, KTR and his legal team stayed in their van outside the ACB office in Banjara Hills. Eventually, he left without recording his statement after ACB officials accepted his response to the notice to appear before them.

The ACB questioned KTR in relation to the Formula E race case, including the payment of Rs 45 crore to a foreign entity, Formula-E Organisers (FOE), in February 2025
