Tata Capital IPO: Expected Listing Date, Valuation, and Ownership Structure
Tata Capital, the Tata Group's financial services business, is planning for an Initial Public Offering (IPO) with a September 2025 listing date. This schedule is consistent with the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) requirement for 'upper layer' Non-Banking Financial Companies (NBFCs) to list within three years of being classified, which is set for September 2025.
Valuation:
The combination of Tata Capital and Tata Finance is valued at around ₹96,475 crore, based on a share price of ₹248.6 at the time of the transaction. This valuation is around three times the proforma book value of ₹31,603 crore as of September 2024.
Ownership:
Following the merger, Tata Sons owns 88.49% of the merged NBFC, while Tata Group entities, including Tata Motors, own an additional 7.72
The Tata Group's IPO is projected to exceed ₹15,000 crore, making it one of the largest offerings in its history.
The IPO is expected to occur in September 2025, in accordance with RBI standards.
